Story of Carribbean Connection Tattoo

Established in 1995, the Tattoo Studio at Carribbean Connection was Jacksonville Beach’s first tattoo shop in the modern era. Three decades later we remain one of the finest, most unique shops in the region. Our shop is located three blocks off the ocean and has been family owned since its inception. We feature three full-time artists year round and welcome guest artists throughout the year. Our artists specialize in custom tattoo designs of all styles, from tribal to traditional.(For more specific info, please reference our artists’ individual bios.) We have built a strong reputation for being such a welcoming shop to our customers, and the only attitudes you will find at Carribbean Connection will be positive ones. We will hear all of your needs and make sure you are provided with a tattoo that you can be stoked about showing off for years to come! We look forward to seeing you soon!

Hours & Scheduling

We have a tattoo artist available seven days a week.
Our tattoo hours are listed below:

Monday-Thursday: 11am – 8pm
Friday-Saturday: 11am – 10pm
Sunday: 12pm – 7pm

Walk-ins are welcomed, however, it is best to call and schedule an appointment because our artists may be booked. When calling to schedule an appointment, please give a general description of your tattoo design, the location of where you want the tattoo, your name and a phone number where you can be reached.
If you are unsure of the design and would like to talk with a tattoo artist before scheduling an appointment, we encourage you to come in for a consultation. Appointments are not necessary for a consultation.

Consultations

Our artists are happy to consult with you on the design and placement of your tattoo. Consultations do not require an appointment.

Deposits

All scheduled tattoos require a minimum $40 deposit. For larger tattoos or tattoos requiring more time, the deposit amount may be greater (to be determined by the tattoo artist). Walk-ins or same day tattoos do not require a deposit.
Appointments booked via the phone:
Customers who call wanting to schedule an appointment for a simple tattoo (small and does not require a lot of drawing) must pay a $40 deposit. This can be paid by credit card over the phone or in person. A consultation is suggested for larger tattoos or tattoos requiring a lot of drawing time. In this case, the artist would determine the deposit amount. If the customer does not want to pay a deposit, he/she can “walk-in” the day he/she chooses, but there would be no guarantee of time because we are unable to book appointments without a deposit.
Cancellations and Reschedules:
Deposits are non-refundable. Deposits are applied towards the cost of the tattoo. If a customer cancels, does not show or does not give at least 24 hour notice to reschedule, his/her deposit will be forfeited. Customers must give at least 24 hour notice to reschedule without forfeiting their deposit. Customers can only reschedule twice. After the second reschedule, it is considered a cancellation and the deposit will be forfeited. The customer would have to provide another deposit in order to book another appointment.

If you have scheduled an appointment with one of our artists and already put down your deposit, you must complete and submit a deposit form to verify that you agree to the policy terms. You can find the form by clicking the link below. Once completed, it will be digitally submitted to our studio.

Pricing

Each artist has his/her own rates. Tattoos cannot be priced over the phone. If you would like to price a tattoo, you must consult with the artist in person.
Friendly Advice:
If you plan on getting a large tattoo piece, please be sure to plan in advance financially. It is very disheartening for a tattoo artist and the customer to begin a large tattoo piece and not be able to finish it due to poor financial planning. It is best to have a large down payment to put down or to have a plan in place for paying in sessions without having to completely stop in the middle of the process.

Tipping

Tipping is not required but greatly appreciated by the artists.

Gift Certificates

Gift Certificates are available for tattoo services in any denomination.

Tattoo Aftercare Instructions

  1. Leave the bandage that you received after the tattoo on for 1 to 3 hours. Tattoos will ooze, this is a normal part of the healing process. The bandage is there to keep airborne bacteria and any other contaminants in the environment from invading your wound.
  2. Make sure your hands have been washed thoroughly before you remove the bandage. You do not need to re-bandage your tattoo.
  3. Cleanse the tattooed area with antibacterial hand soap and water. Gently massage your tattoo with your hand. Do not scrub the tattoo with a brush or towel (this should not be done until the tattoo has healed).
  4. Dry the tattooed area by gently patting with a clean, sterile paper towel.
  5. Lightly rub a tiny amount of unscented/un-dyed lotion onto the tattoo. Our artist recommend using Hustle Butter.
  6. Repeat steps 3 through 5 for the next 7 to 10 days, approximately 3 to 5 times a day.

After a few days, you may notice some peeling and possibly a little scabbing. RESIST THE URGE TO SCRATCH OR PICK at the tattoo. Picking at your tattoo can lead to irritation, scarring, color loss, and/or fading. To ease itchiness, gently massage a tiny amount of unscented/un-dyed lotion on the area. Remember – After you leave the tattoo studio, the aftercare if your responsibility. Make sure you care for your tattoo properly. Poorly followed aftercare can result in prolonged healing, and can degrade the overall appearance of the tattoo when it is healed.

HELPFUL TIPS:

  1. Do not go swimming or soak in water with your new tattoo. Showers are ok. Be sure not to use any scented body washes, or wash cloths/loofahs on your new tattoo. Only wash your tattoo with antibacterial hand soap.
  2. We recommend that you sleep on newly cleaned bed sheets the first few nights with your new tattoo. Unclean bed sheets can be a breeding ground for bacteria, and a source of infection for a new tattoo.
  3. Do not use hydrogen peroxide or rubbing alcohol on your tattoo.
  4. Do not participate in activities that will make you sweat.
  5. Stay out of the sun until your tattoo has healed completely. Apply sun block (at least 30 SPF) to your tattoo after it has healed whenever it is exposed to the sun to protect it from fading.
